Rhino 8 Plugin Conflict: Duplicate RhinoBeat IDs Causing Errors

Problem:

Some Rhino 8 users have reported errors due to duplicate plugin IDs between RhinoBeat and RhinoBeat.7. This occurs because both versions share the same identifier, leading to conflicts when Rhino tries to load them.

The folder structure might look like this:

Solution:

This issue was resolved in our latest release (1.1.40.0) which makes the two versions load dynamically. Upgrading is highly recommended.

With the older versions of RhinoBeat, there are two possible configurations:

  • If you’re running Rhino 8 in .NET 7 (the latest runtime), you should keep the Rhino 8 plugin and remove RhinoBeat.7.

  • If you’re running Rhino 8 in .NET Framework, you should keep RhinoBeat.7 and remove the other versions to maintain compatibility.

Recommended Fix: Update to Bimbeats 1.1.40.0 to avoid conflicts!
